Proficiencies of Kevin J Palmer are rooted in decades of driving performance for Wall Street giants Merrill Lynch and Paine Webber. Then, as Managing Director at Strategic Management Advisors where partnering with other executives, he built better broker-dealers by improving business models during an industry paradigm shift.

Going deeper into wealth-stratification, he spun off a behavioral think-tank, where he combined scientific method, advanced finance course, social work and psychology degrees, to procedurally measure scope and scale of emotional intelligence in decision processes. There he uncovered the way people with seven-digit net worth’s created wealth and made choices, dramatically altering socioeconomic forecasting.

Opposing power in the hands of the too few, this writer, rebel, producer, poet exploded into advocacy to end economic abuse and assure morally achieve wealth. Humbled by blessings and aversion to seeing suffering, this unabashed champion of financial justice also participates in wildlife rescue, environmental stewardship—and as recipient of the Governors Archaeology award, is fascinated by lives of individuals who lived thousands of years ago.

In his previous book, The Quiet Rich,  Kevin J. Palmer for the first time pulled back the curtain on wealth and success in America and shared how ordinary people have become millionaires by following their spiritual drivers and that by choosing to live authentically, connecting your personality to the vastness of your spirit, you can achieve the abundance you’ve been looking for.

He published numerous articles and blogs and did radio & television appearances regularly, on economic and financially related topics, for various stations like; NPR’s Market Place, NPR affiliate KJZZ-FM, KXTZ-FM, as well as television appearances on KPNX-TV, KVVU-TV5, KNXV-TV.

Polarization is on the rise.

A structural decline is happening in America that’s shifting people into the margins based on education, beliefs, or ethnicity.

Denial about the circuitousness of change is leaving casualties at the road side as individualized behaviors are dictated by black and white values and not pragmatism.  Advocates animal rights will attack you if you eat meat. One man’s terrorist is another’s revolutionary. We want free speech but not if you are a neo-Nazi.

A growing predetermined bias is creeping into social consciousness. Silicon Valley, boast that the IQ elite get richer while average and below-average intelligence gets progressively more segregated. But quietly all across America ordinary people are reawakening their own American dream based on unique characteristic only a mother could love.

During archaeology expeditions, I put myself in the place of ancients who lived thousands of years ago discovering that common men like me met challenges from the beginning of time. It was average individuals, not the elite, who overcome the greatest odds. Only individuals with a sense of purpose have power.

Americans have more confidence in Tim Cook, in Jeff Bezos than they have in their Senate. The more attention people give to politicians, the bigger their egos become and the less they do. Waiting for empowerment from a third party is not a strategy.

At the risk of sounding Egalitarian, I believe more people can have more financial security, in more diverse ways, simply by acknowledging their uniqueness. I don’t buy the research that correlates of IQ with economic success because it comes from deeper more emotional factors.

You cannot have a dialog about IQ without its twin, Emotional Intelligence which includes spiritual connectiveness as a much broader and more significant factor. If all people are not created equal, they all do have a unique ability to achieve equal rights and opportunities.

That is why I’m writing Reawakening an American Dream. Simply stated, it’s a toolbox that guides readers to their “flying point” by undertaking what comes naturally for them.

Because doing what you love, should be easy , and can reconfigure your brain’s behavioral responses for personal achievement.

Growing China’s Middle Class

Economic pundits are coming to grips with a new global realty check. The realization that industrialized double digit export growth in China is unsustainable. However, that has not deterred Chinese policymakers from eyeing new sustainable growth strategies to propel China into the preeminent world economic power.

One secret weapon could be China’s middle class, now the biggest in the world. Growing much faster than America’s, China’s has the potential to increase an estimated 73% by 2020.  Adapting that swelling middle class to a service, consumer, and private consumption economy will drive long-term social stability, generate higher employment growth and expand the middle class into the economically challenged rural northwest and western regions.

Shifts in China’s urban middle class have occurred at a brisk pace for the last decade. Quick advancement into higher economic brackets is a common occurrence. Spending habits of these consumers are not only influenced by income but by brand awareness.  The young, well-educated and price sensitive, seek the latest fashion to stand out from their peers. The older more experienced middle class demand better quality in goods and service.

Yes, purchasing behavior and demographic features vary among the different sub-segments within China’s middle class. However, most are interested in the latest products as well as the world outside of China. The other characteristic of these ambitious consumers is — they are looking to classic American lifestyles for inspiration to build their own financial dreams.

What better blueprint is there for China then the code of America’s “Quiet Rich”? To understanding the lives of those humble yet dynamic American millionaires who rose from meager beginnings will greatly benefit China’s emerging classes and grow China from the inside out.

As a former hedge fund investor and participant in Phoenix Suns charities I am aware of strides Jahm Najafi has made with Author Solutions. However, something is critically wrong that I hope you see as opportunity to gain advantage and improve image.

The irony is that this is a trite problem resulting from poor English and can be fixed with a simple solution, but silo thinking from strict corporate protocols has barricaded action.

The imprint in question is Balboa Press where content evaluation requested changing names to protect possibly ‘damaging a person, place, or thing’ and obtain written permission from those persons. Since all the situations and characters are fictious, as stated in the Author’s Notes, that request was wholly counter intuitive…and impossible.  After that, the situation became repugnant. I will provide sordid details to you or whomever you prefer.

I’d like to resolve this internally before escalating contingency plans. I’m in NYC and would like to hear from you before heading west Friday afternoon.

In most business markets even, good companies require change when something is not working and I hope you see this as an opportunity.

In 1943, came an image to sum up a special time.

You will probably recall that in 1943 we were in the middle of something called World War II. You may also recall that fighting a World War required a lot of men and despite political correctness men were considered the more expendable of the two sexes.

This was based on a natural selection corollary that to preserve a species you needed lots of women since one woman could bear one child per year, whereas one man could, well you get my point. Anyway, with most of the men occupied in wartime pursuits, many women were running factories to make the machines of war.

You may also recall an America’s women. An image of “Rosie the Riveter” a selfless sacrifice from master chronicler. Norman Rockwell. She was sitting demurely with a rivet gun in her lap and a ham sandwich in her hand, with the U.S. flag billowing as backdrop. She was an American beauty!

Rockwell used Mary Doyle a telephone operator from Arlington, Vermont as an inspiration for Rosie’s face. The body however, since most woman were a no show at the gym in 1943, was a body copied from Michelangelo’s “Isaiah the Prophet”. All and all an inspiration to any man in any battle and a morale booster for the troops hoping to come home soon.

Becoming 21 is a benchmark in life not to be taken lightly. It means you already have a history, as you move on to even greater accomplishments.

Felling much like an aunt and uncle, our gift this year reflects the history of Don Julio González who began tequila-making in 1942. In America that year you could buy a house for $3775, a car for $920 and a loaf of bread for 10 cents. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the Japanese attacked pearl harbor that year.

No, we don’t remember that event, lol, but I have often read about that year and learned that it is through struggles and challenges that true greatness is forged. We know this by looking at America today, of which you have now become a “legal” and important part.

Enjoy this distinguished, white-oak barrel aged tequila that reflects Don Julio González’s passion for making a high-quality product. And remember we feel your personality and potential can eclipse the simple greatness of its maker, and we look forward to your continued success.

The best years of your life have begun. Enjoy the future thoroughly, work hard, experience all you can—and love deeply.

Born with a stately name of kings, Edward William George, by school age was Eddie, just as Roberts became Bob’s, Michael’s, Mike and so on. Taking their stand in adulthood, countless men resorted back

to given names. Bob’s again become Robert’s Mikes, M i c h a e l s and Eddie’s become Edward’s— except for those who personified the name. Like, Eddie Van Halen, Eddie Bauer, and the Eddie Vedders of the world. Eddie George was one of those who uniquely coined his namesake.  Known as Uncle Ed to nieces and nephews, he was loved for an ability to be open in his persona.

During one of Uncle Ed’s last dinners with extended family in a crowded restaurant, he touted his 4-year old grandniece to share her ice-cream. She adamantly resisted. “Can I at least lick the bowl?” he smirked. She again selfishly refused. Finally, when every bit of the chocolate ice-cream was done, persnickety little Sophia pushed the empty bowl to him and said, “Okay, you can have some.” Without hesitation, Uncle Ed leaned into the well scraped bowl with an abrupt licking sound that brought roaring laughter from the table. His grandniece reveled in such abundant joy. A wave of applause echo from those in earshot. That’s just how he was. A child at heart that was never afraid to be himself.

The many who knew him as Ed, may not have known “Ed George” was also the name of his grandfather, whose decedents settled the town of Douglas Wyoming.  It was there mom Norma and dad Charlie raised four boys and two girls. The dynamic and amiable Catholic family, nicked named their hometown “Douglas America” in proud admiration. They were well-known in the town of 5,000, where, in 1919 grandpa Ed George, before starting the first insurance company, opened a soda shop called the Kandy Koop right in the center of town. It was a place for ice cream, delightful food and was a happy mainstay of social life for generations.

While growing up in Douglas, the young Ed George worked construction for his father Charlie’s development business.  However, he spent every free minute at the local country club challenging

the links with his brothers. Ed eventually received a golf a scholarship to New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, where he met his wife, who soon gave birth to daughter Erin.

Having the looks of John Elway might have brought him some vanity or at very least football talent, Eddie had neither but was supremely gifted in the game of golf. He had a natural swing and uncommon

compulsion to the game that made it easy to master, what takes a lifetime for others to develop. His swing came from his heart, not his head and Eddie never worked at the game, only played. He once

said, “Why practice if you can play? If I don’t do well, I’ll just go out for another round, or two.” For Eddie, 36 holes was a breeze because it was natural.

I loved calling him “Tin Cup” from the movie about Roy McAvoy whose rebellious nature cost him millions, because Ed would just squint his bright blue eyes and say, “Wish you could play like me, huh?” And most golfers did! Ironically the move Tin Cup was released on the day Edward William George turned 39 years old. The movie echoed his belief, that when you are working on your talent you need the best equipment but ‘if you have talent you can hit the golf ball with any stick.’ And he could do just that and wasted no attention on minor details and gadgets.

Things to Eddie were just things and remained scattered randomly all over his car and apartment.

However, the anomaly in his controlled chaos was the kitchen. It was spotless because he loved to cook. Perhaps an inherited trait, I often wondered how a rough- and-tumble guy could have such a knack for a recipe, whether it was his famous pulled pork, salsa, or green chili. They all were as good as his golf game. Even his rum cake, that didn’t get rum! “I made you a rum cake” he once said, “but I drank the rum, now I’m drunk but you have cake.” Either way it was all good, as was Eddie — especially at a party!

We once made the mistake of putting Eddie in charge of the tequila bar at an event in our home. His friendly social instincts unarmed people into a common comfort. And his commitment to task was

monumental. He believed duty as Master of Ceremony was to have a shot with each guest he served. He lasted upright for about an hour and 20 minutes. But as a host his legend lives on. Even waiting tables was an exercise in sharing humanity. He had more repeat customers than most servers because it was not about the tip but the experience that the interaction provided.

Eddie loved to be with people and would go well out of his way to be with those he cared about, especially family.  If he worked on or before a holiday and there was a family event out of town, he

would get in his car and drive, and drive and drive. Even if it took all night he’d arrive in time for Christmas morning, a Thanksgiving dinner, a graduation, or a birthday. Regardless of the time of day

or night, he was all about the motion of moving down the highway. He could care less about the brand name of the vehicle because as he loved to say, “A car just gets me from point A to Point B, what’s important, is it’s paid for!”

Eddie George was a minimalist in a time when people are complicated with social needs. He expected no help and never asked. Fiercely independent and proud of his Wyoming roots, he took nothing he didn’t earn and accepted little advice. His friends could always count on him—and enemies, he had none. He did what he wanted, answered to no one and could meet both victory and adversity with the same truth and never breathe a word of regret about either.

These days most of us deep down vainly want to be remembered in our passing as kings. Edward William George worried less about such superficiality. He never resorted to societal trappings or pretense. In his own stately way, no explanation was needed about how he lived. He only wanted to live and let live. His enormous smile, framed by silver hair, was tempered by a shy persona that unarmed most people, making it a joy to be around him. Eddie George could truly “walk with Kings and not lose his common touch” –and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward George and Norma Lee (Lundberg) George.

Ed is survived by his daughter Erin George of San Antonio, Texas; and his five siblings, Jeffrey (Linda) George of Fort Collins, Colorado, Randolph (Susan) George of Laramie, Wyoming, Gretchen (Kevin) Palmer of Scottsdale, Arizona, Bridget (Scot) Simons of Aurora, Colorado, and Thomas (Michelle) George of Henderson, Nevada.

A reception and celebration of life has been scheduled at the Douglas Community Club on Saturday, May 27, 2017, from 3-5 p.m. and for those of you that knew Eddie George – shorts and golf attire required.

On this day, April 29, 1900, John Luther Jones, then an engineer for the Illinois Central Railroad, arrived in Memphis, Tennessee, having driven a train there from Canton, Mississippi. In Memphis, he found out the engineer scheduled to make the return run that night was sick, so Jones volunteered to take his place. When he pulled out of the Memphis station in the early hours of April 30, the train was running late so he hurried to make up for lost time. As the train rounded a curve near Vaughan, Mississippi, it collided with another train on the tracks, but not before Jones told his fireman to jump to safety. Jones remained on board, supposedly to try to slow the train and save his passengers, and was the only person to die in the accident.

One of the most famous queens in history ended a string of “Merger and Acquisition” deals by using the asp. Her name was Cleopatra. She was of Greek heritage and as a teenager married her brother (old dynastic custom). However, bickering over whom ‘mom liked best’ led to civil war in Egyptian. At a nearby asset heavy monopoly, Julius Caesar decided to seize the political opportunity and take over Egypt. But the due-diligence of his astute investment bankers was disrupted by Cleo’s eyelash ploy.

Having over payed or not, he was receiving personal benefits that made it work to his advantage—until he felt a stabbing sensation in the forum (I mean the back). Filling the BOD power vacuum were three upwardly mobile directors. One named Mark Antony, also quickly fell victim to Cleopatra’s classic eyelash operation. Again, it worked for a while until the other two guys Lepidus and Octavian, realized even a well-run deal machine can be thrown off kilter by emotion and figured Queenie had too much influence over Marky.

Then on this day, September 2nd in 31 B.C., a game-changing analyst report hit. Mr. Antony had lost the naval Battle at Actium. Cleo who assumed she could fix a fundamental business problem with a management change, new Octavian was the new deal maker on the block and she should make him an offer. But what to do about the ousted Mark Antony?

Cleo decided to send a text to Mark saying, ‘Market and cultural landscapes have shifted and I’ve taken the poison pill. Advise you do same if you really love me.’ Mark Antony being a naïve junior partner when it came to girls, complied. Cleo soon sent another message to Octavian saying ‘boyfriend’s gone you’re in!’

Octavian being less interested in finer female things said, ‘not a chance baby because you will be marched through the Walled Streets of Rome as my ROI disaster.’ Knowing her gig was up, Cleo performed the above-mentioned unassisted suicide by pressing an asp to her bosom, ending her illustrious career.
