Founded upon Dissent, no king, no lord, no president-held the right to rule without the consent of the people.

Sorry Joe we did not, “… find ourselves confronted with the ongoing crisis in Ukraine…” We created it, as we have done so many other times in past wars around the world. It’s no wonder Volodymyr Zelenskyy is having a tantrum because he can’t immediately hide under the skirt of NATO.
During the breakup of the USSR in 1991, Russia pulled troops out of Germany because George Bush promised not to move NATO east. Since then, we permitted Hungry, and Czech Republic to enter NATO, along with Poland, where we quickly put our nukes.
Political trust is irrevocably broken due to leaders, who have no idea of their limits. Which includes Zelenskyy, a comedian and actor with a knack for putting himself in the spotlight. It’s the kind of subpar thinking that has failed since Vietnam and the world continues to buy-in, especially when it’s served with tyrannical U.S. influence.
You say America’s bold stance is because, it is morally wrong for Russia to occupy Ukraine. Yet it’s okay for apartheid Israel to commit ethnocide in the Palestinian territory, or for the U.S. to secretly cause civil wars or coups through CIA influenced architectures. You make sanctions sound righteous, when they are as brutal as war on civilian populations. And you pull troops out of Afghanistan as it collapses but fight by proxy, in Ukraine. What is your truth?
Sanctioning Russia into economic devastation, will only force them to join with our enemies. Then, when this war has worn down our military and drained the populous emotionally. There will be an international incident in the south China sea or in the Strait of Hormuz that will actually affect America directly. We will then be flat out of juice.
Prior to the Russian invasion we called Ukraine, a rogue state, a haven for computer hacking and financial corruption. Yet now we give them hundreds of millions to exasperate war. In the end, considering the catastrophic carnage to the country, they might have fared better under Russia. China is communist and its people prosper. Paul Collier said it best, those at the bottom do no worse under communism than capitalism. The real problem he says is, “…psychopaths, and they’re around 3% worldwide…” So, the problem is not just Russia, it is the 3% on all sides.
Face it, America stopping communism is a fear ploy for political control to avoid far more pressing issues on our plant—like or planet! We the people, need to stop accepting bait and switch tactics that avoid the broader issues. You can use PR whitewash and call me a rebel or non-patriot. But let’s take this in for a moment. My wife’s family came to America on the Mayflower. As is she today, all her female ancestors were Daughters of the American Revolution and our family worked hard to honor that and support this country through thick and thin.
Keep foremost in your mind, that this is a country founded by rebels that saw a wrong and fought to make it right. Accepting the status quo went out of style in 1776. The time to see what has not worked and make a change is upon us presently. Slaughter and destruction in the duplicitous name of stopping communism must end or we will have learned nothing from Vietnam—a war we lost in a country that was added to the tourist map. Yes, Joe it is time to eliminate the self-interest of “those 3%”, that wag the dog, and bring this country back to the principles it was founded upon.

A polluted and deteriorating planet is easily blamed on societal impacts of digitalization, a virtual generation, or a global breakdown of “decent society”. Man’s ego, makes it hard to simply admit that humans are still way too immature. Emotional Development somehow never figures into the destruction equation. That’s a shame, because to fix a worst-case scenario global catastrophe, we first need to accurately assess the source of the problem. In other words, starting from true north will avoid disappointing results caused by a wrong premise. Believing mass human maturity is someday possible, I studied the full body of broadly accepted research about our past, before considering future solutions.

The Ailment

Humans have altered climate, eradicated species and destroyed much of the planet’s natural land. They do so because of a belief, that what’s in the best interest of man’s short life span, supersedes long-term sanctity of all others. Most extraordinary accomplishments come from 2% of the population. The inverse is true when it comes to extinguishing wildlife and natural habitats. Studies show two thirds of people care about the planet but far less act. Most accept diesel truck deliveries, use plastic bags or have children. Childbearing seems silly to point out but since humans reproduce exponentially and transfer their habits, our planet is doomed.

The disorder here is we rationalize our actions to make us feel better about what we do. Mankind has good excuses as to why they come first and prove it using narrowminded reasoning. This is often seen in cultural stereotyping. In the 1800’s Italians were unsavory because they cooked with garlic. Native Americans are sacrilegious because they used peyote. Burkas are offensive due to rare instances of genital mutilation. Correct conclusions notwithstanding, most of the equation is left out for easier self-serving rationalization. Thus, being at fault for destroying the planet is easy for many to accept—or should I say rationalize.

Aggressive Technology

Selfish prejudices are not cultural anomalies but our true nature. Dare I say, we are only human and neophytes in emotional development. What has fooled us into thinking we are so smart, is that utilitarian technology proceeds psychological advancement. Primitive weapons came long before the wheel and we dominated in a considerably short period of time on the evolutionary scale because aggressive technology developed first and rather quickly. Catching up to those advancements emotionally will still take millenniums, because life as a pleasant, cooperative garden of Eden was not our beginning—but could be our future.

Paleoanthropologists

Confirmed in field studies and even my own archaeology experience, primitive culture was intense and lethal. Skeletons from hunter gatherers show patterns of intense warfare among groups that included axes and projectile weapons. Nomadic foraging society was far from carefree. Look back at your own adolescence, it seemed like a breeze. Reality is—youth was difficult but rationalization helps whitewash the bad memories. So too are notions of early hunter gathers serenely roaming the planet.

Nine human species walked the Earth 300,000 years ago and we wiped out the other eight. Our modern ancestors who spread of out of Africa, didn’t cause mass extinctions through negotiation. It was done by annihilation. The men in mankind took what they wanted, including women. Random sexual encounters commonly happened because power was the law. Children needed to be raised by many because there were no institutional delineations—that came 290,000 years later with farming and land ownership.

Yet political systems and religions prefer to paint a past picture of humble creatures that peacefully conform when historicity, we were about clubs and guerrilla tactics. In hunter gather days, hunting was not the danger. The leading cause of death among men was violence. Sound familiar? It is hard to accept that our ancestors wiped out their own relatives through genocide.

The Bright Spot

However, take heart, there’s a simple solution—emotional maturity. We’ve been civilized for only 10,000 years, as marked by agrarian society a mere 5% of our time as modern Home Sapiens. Rationalizing what we believe is normal but instead of finding people to help confirm we are right, like a political party or a single internet proof. Evolve emotional conscience and broaden the perspective. Becoming cognizant of how the primate brain works. Then honor our bipedality, opposable thumbs, and intelligence by striving for a greater purpose. Launch it from inside your own back yard to lead others as better stewards. Because all animals, plants and humans, must coexist for our long-term survival.

Evolve emotionally to the next level and save the planet’s biodiversity by understanding human weaknesses. As there is toxicity in relationships never to be accepted, the same holds true for Mother Earth. We need to protect her as we do ourselves by giving up bad habits for new ideas and working together with effort and self-discipline. Historically humans became cooperative hunters and wiped-out predators. Using similar collaboration for a greater good, we can save the planet that sustains our species. Framing decisions with an emotional maturity that honors our divine uniqueness, truly makes us civilized.

Reveals the hidden secrets first-time millionaires have used to gain abundance or achieve financial freedom.

Until now, all so called “get rich experts” tout their own style of one-size-fits-all techniques. Their opinions are based on a single idea created through a personal filter, the very subjectivity of which decreases the odds of success for others. The truth is, no single formula for obtaining financial prosperity works. The only “expert” capable of determining how to create wealth is the person themselves and that makes options for succeeding infinite.

In Reawakening an American Dream, hundreds of personalities were examined. The conclusion: all people share external traits but what separates success and failure is an applied divine difference that link behaviors on an individual basis. It illuminates behavioral thinking that paves a way to wealth, by unlocking personal power permitting individual outcomes to naturally unfold–retooling the mind for individual best use. Actual success techniques were woven into the stories, making change virtually effortless, in much the same way children learn new behaviors because they are cognitively predisposed. Within Reawakening an American Dream, each story is enlightening and offers instruction that can open doors to readers’ own riches.

$14 trillion of reparations for slavery

KEY POINTS
  • “Now is the time to go big” to keep America from dividing into two separate and unequal societies, Robert Johnson said in a CNBC interview Monday.
  • Johnson said reparations would send the signal that white Americans acknowledge “damages that are owed” for the unequal playing field created by slavery and the decades since.
  • The wealth divide and police brutality against blacks are at the heart of protests that have erupted across the nation following last week’s killing of George Floyd during an arrest in Minneapolis.

It was a hot day much like this one back in August 1762.

An overweight British bureaucrat in his mid-forties, who preferred to sit on his butt and gamble, as many Londoners knew, got hunger. His name was John Montagu and he was rich, had the title of Earl, was falsely empowered and as a result, lazy!

So rather than take a break from the gambling tabled for food that usually included bread in a bowl, or on a plate. He demanded someone put a piece of meat or cheese on a slice of bread and bring it to him. This way he had food in one hand and could bet with the other.

This improper approach amazed many and for months they told the tale of Montagu’s “meal in hand” that let him keep gambling! However being the fourth “Earl of Sandwich” he cared nothing about the bad press regarding Earl’s Meal. Eventually they started to call his food faux pas by his family’s title “SANDWICH”.

The name sandwich became a mainstay on tables for centuries.

In 64 A.D. an emperor named Nero fiddled while Rome burned.

It was on the same day 2033 before a senator drove his car off of a bridge on Chappaquiddick Island. Both incidents involved politicians but one was a habitual murderer. The fiddle would not be invented for over a thousand years after the fire raged in a South West slum in Rome. So, Nero who was in charge may not have fiddled but as empire decided to blame a new group called the Christian and undertook one of many non-Jewish holocaust, slaughtering men, woman and children so he could remain in political favor.

This was no nice guy. History shows he may have poisoned his stepfather Claudius, murdered his stepbrother, Britannicus, a year later. Then killed his mother, Agrippina, before taking-out his wife, Octavia. However he kept the masses happy with diversions, like killing Christians and other outdoor activities. His real mistake however was raising taxes.

To fix that political mistake he committed suicide.

A Vision for Archaeology

Kevin J. Palmer Archeology

As recipient of the Governor’s Archaeology Award I am dedicated to the management of ancient cultural resources. A worthy steward of that ethic is the Arizona Archaeological Society (AAS). Its proud history is one of peaks and troughs but primarily a consistent climb from a simple idea to an organization that was not only renowned in the state of Arizona but recognized as a model for the rest of the country.

In the last years AAS had new struggles. Maybe, attributable to the great recession of 2008, their foray kicking and screaming into 21st century technology or changes in political sentiment by regulators about what AAS should and shouldn’t do. Regardless of the reasons, it has taken its toll on membership, leadership, budgeting, and put to question the very purpose of the society’s existence.

Since inception along with other state agencies, it elected to be a Registered Principal/Public Body through a Designated Lobbyist (DL). Now that long standing role is in question–potentially keeping AAS from the broader discussion of archaeology at the government level.

A wrong turn in the evolution of this organization can have a lasting effect as seen in many misjudgments throughout history. It happened in 1914 when a crown prince, named Ferdinand, thought it would be good to have a member of the Royal Family show up in the region. So with his wife, Sophie, he drove with his staff to a place called Sarajevo.

The townsfolk turned out in force. Suddenly an assassin hurled a short-fuse bomb into the touring car. The Archduke may have mumbled something like, “imbecile.” Then picked up the bomb and flung it over his shoulder. Four other assassins took this as a bad omen, ditched their guns and headed for the local brew pub.

During the ceremonies the crown prince realized his speeches had little relevance to the actual day-to-day life of the people. Soon the crowd got antsy and the police decided to change the plan and send them back the way they came instead of parading down the main drag (Franz Josef Strasse) waving his jewelry.

However, representing well its duty of public service the lead car mistakenly turned onto Franz Josef Strasse and the Archduke’s car followed into the crowed square.

The amazing lack of strategic vision was not lost on a nineteen year-old guy named Gavrilo Princip (the sixth assassin) who had been standing in the sun just in case the first five guys missed.

As the planning committee tried to unravel the gridlock, Gavrilo promptly shot the Archduke and Sophie and within 48 hours, World War I was on the way.

The Arizona Archaeological Society now stands on a similar street corner and should avoid short term decisions that preclude future potential, and instead, ponder strengths. When AAS was considered the preeminent public archaeological organization in the state, it was asked to brief Arizona’s Governor about its role in archaeology. Since then many similar organizations some of which have split from AAS diminish its distinction and consequently its access.

In embracing the influence of its official state status, the Arizona Archaeology Society can provide a clear vision for Arizona Archaeology with precise public policies communicated through its Designated Lobbyist at the Arizona Archaeological Society,

Where have the good old days of politics gone?

Like in 1856, when a political outburst in the U.S. Senate between a conservative and a liberal from New England was quickly and definitively settled. In this particular instance the liberal was a Republican and the conservative was a Democrat.

What was the same as today was, both guys thought the battle was personal as well as ideological and thought the other was not a nice person.

That day the liberal Sen. Sumner of Massachusetts, delivered a speech against slavery. The conservative, a Senator Brooks from South Carolina, was obsessed by his opponent’s hostile position.

His friends suggested challenging Sumner to a duel. But Brooks told them that dueling was too good for such a low class vermin. So he strode into the Senate chamber, raised his ivory-topped cane, and beat Sumner into a coma.

The next year he was re-elected by popular vote.

As Frank Burns said, “If I made any mistakes in this article, they are God’s will or someone else’s fault.”
