]]> In 64 A.D. an emperor named Nero fiddled while Rome burned.

 

It was on the same day 2033 before a senator drove his car off of a bridge on Chappaquiddick Island. Both incidents involved politicians but one was a habitual murderer. The fiddle would not be invented for over a thousand years after the fire raged in a South West slum in Rome. So, Nero who was in charge may not have fiddled but as empire decided to blame a new group called the Christian and undertook one of many non-Jewish holocaust, slaughtering men, woman and children so he could remain in political favor.

 

This was no nice guy. History shows he may have poisoned his stepfather Claudius, murdered his stepbrother, Britannicus, a year later. Then killed his mother, Agrippina, before taking-out his wife, Octavia. However he kept the masses happy with diversions, like killing Christians and other outdoor activities. His real mistake however was raising taxes.

 

To fix that political mistake he committed suicide.

One of the biggest challenges of change is no matter how good it is, people will still resist. Opposition to change is a basic human trait and correlated to intelligence. The human brain prefers to hang on to the past, so change must have a creative road map for where to go and what to accomplish. Therefore you/they need to determine what the organization needs and outline rewards for reaching the destination. Then identify individual rewards for those who help implement the change.

First, moving speed bumps in itself is a reactive action to the original flawed thinking. However, using an evolved strategy I recommended would counter the silo thinking of old guard BOA.

– Offer a five-year master plan that includes all that attributes that bring the community to the standards it deserves. It will result in slower traffic and eventual removal of most speed bumps for platforms. I initiated such a plan at Desert Highlands that worked well—it’s not rocket science.

Second, as agreed, the history of PPCC BOD has been one of personal economic gain. They are usually the first to bend the rules rather than lead by example. BOD needs to be held accountable.

– The reason no one participate at meetings is because it’s seen as a corrupt bureaucracy with little reward for one’s time, until there is bump in the road (pun intended). The way to overcome that perception is with transparency—easily done using technology &/or an oversight committee. We both executed that in corporate life.

Lastly, the BOD would prefer to play defense because it’s easier than severing as a powerful force in representing our community. It is a default because they lack the true leadership & vision needed to efficiently run an organization.

–  One thing I learned during my HOA work with the State Legislature is it’s not unusual for HOA’s to be of that caliber. This of course put PPCCE at disadvantage to more evolved agendas like the country club or Zinn’s of the world. Measuring effectiveness much like you did when managing an office, will  root out sub-par members.

We both know from our histories, the primary responsibility of people (in our past roles) was to make best practice decisions for those under our authority. To be that kind of leader for transformational change, the BOD needs to encourage others, by discussing elements of the change to support their ideas until the change is complete. Remember, “cognitive diversity” which has been absent for years, leads to an expanded perspective and wider range of options that enables better decisions to solve problems more effectively.

]]> Where have the good old days of politics gone?

Like in 1856, when a political outburst in the U.S. Senate between a conservative and a liberal from New England was quickly and definitively settled. In this particular instance the liberal was a Republican and the conservative was a Democrat.

What was the same as today was, both guys thought the battle was personal as well as ideological and thought the other was not a nice person.

That day the liberal Sen. Sumner of Massachusetts, delivered a speech against slavery. The conservative, a Senator Brooks from South Carolina, was obsessed by his opponent’s hostile position.

His friends suggested challenging Sumner to a duel. But Brooks told them that dueling was too good for such a low class vermin. So he strode into the Senate chamber, raised his ivory-topped cane, and beat Sumner into a coma.

The next year he was re-elected by popular vote.

]]> A Monetary-Demographic Exploration

I started identifying that unique set of “ordinary” millionaires, and I nicknamed them the Quiet Rich out of respect for their achievements.

Increasingly intrigued, I conducted deeper behavioral economic analysis and before long made groundbreaking discoveries about how people with a seven-digit net worth created their affluence. By applying further cognitive psychology, we analyzed how they made financial decisions and even what they thought about themselves.

At the time, Behavioral Finance was a sub-field and not as popular as it is today. Somehow, though, our spot-on research found its way into financial commentaries for radio, television, and print. Eventually, some of my stories were aired in a broadcast series.

Demand for more information about average all-American millionaires intensified and so did my research. Recognizing the need to share intimate details of how financial and social understanding can improve lives, I began to write incessantly.

 

Inner Voice Opening

In a time when the chirping of in-your-face media is so omnipresent that it can stifle the spirit, I wanted to open an inner voice as lead singer to industrial-sized search engines and sociopathic egos. That voice would bring to mind answers that would beckon people to think freely.

After years of drilling down into this unique set of millionaires and using proprietary matrixes to analyze and uncover their secret success standards, my institute correlated the data against practical-use-theory psychological types. In doing this, we exposed deep knowledge about cognitive and behavioral decision processing that I blended into chapters based on specific personality types.

The approach of layering in hundreds of case studies in writing this book permits various outcomes to naturally unfold within readers. At the same time, it initiates a self-actualization process from the multiple character experiences. This is effective because, although DNA may be a locked safe of genetic information, its active counterpart, RNA, has been responding to environments throughout evolution. The continued synthesis of knowledge and skills recounted through these multidimensional stories stimulates the brain’s neurotransmitters to signal the growth of new pathways.

Research shows that human-to-human bonding around associative content is highly effective in achieving one’s dreams. Connecting these secret success standards by personality type makes it easier to use the stories to make positive change happen. Thus, we have been able to confirm that people can create their own vision of the American Dream—and achieve it!

February 18th Presidents Day 2019

The Most impressive man in my country club is not club champion or former CEO’s on our volunteer BOD. It is the locker room attendant. The man who sees to the duties of shoes, toiletries and towels. 

His regal history is greater than many members. A junior golf champion in high school and NAIA golf team in collage. He suffered a series of despairs including his father’s death but carried his heavy bag of clubs through every round of golf and had emotional losses recovered through a heavenly father.

His blogs, writings, and book have inspired many golfers since and have become a standard read for many country club employees across America. Yes, we find greatness in the least obvious places—cloaked in humility.
