Seeing Eye Dog That Couldn’t See

Graham’s seeing eye dog came into his life from British Academy of Guide Dogs.

Edward was a seeing eye dog that opened a new world for owner Graham who had injured his eyes in separate accidents. He had lost his right eye completely in a car crash then, years later the left eye was hurt in another accident and weakened by glaucoma.

Many years later Edward the seeing eye dog, was stricken with glaucoma and went blind himself. A dog who had loaned his eyes to another for much of his life had lost his site completely due to the same disease that impaired his master.

This English Retriever was already popular but after losing his sight, there came an outpouring of support. People clamored to meet him. Edward loved the attention and would lay on one shoulder, bottom sticking up and bark to his fans.

Stardom hasn’t ruined this blind dog and to Graham his master he’s a constant companion. That love between animal and master is especially powerful. Graham says, “it’s more than man relying on dog, it’s the other way around.”

Connection between human and dog is an intimate and intuitive bond.

Thank you, Jennifer S Holland  for this beautiful story.

America is mostly immune to world crisis and we have the luxury of safety and speculation from the sidelines but Sunday morning quarterbacking won’t protect anyone.

Liquidity in capital markets is drying up and may lead to market malfunctions. Russian crypto currency wallets are filling to 40 million dollars each as money moves out of our US treasures.

Cyber-attacks by “anonymous” against the Russians are quietly condoned by the same American leaders who called out similar attacks by Russia against us last year.

Embargos mean less oil to us which means more drilling and environmental damage in our backyard and it will go deeper, so to speak.

The best way for this War to end, is quickly regardless of who wins. Right now, the world is on fire so beware of being sucked into anybody’s agenda.

Good News on the Road to Riches

Published on February 19, 2015   Kevin J. Palmer  Economic Justice Activist

Recently “arriving” to affluence this year was about 72,000 new 401(k) millionaires. That’s nearly twice as many as in 2012 according to a recent study by a firm that tracks the company’s 13 million retirement plans.

The arrival of these new millionaires of course is greatly attributable to recent record gains in the stock market. But true credit must go to the discipline of those individual workers who, by making the sacrifice to change their present lifestyle and save, will now reap future gains in retirement.

And let’s not forget that kudos go to employers who matched those 401(k) contributions and were an essential factor in helping ramp up savings for those “disciplined workers” to 8 percent—almost twice the 4.10% national average savings rate.

However there are many Americans who struggle with no pension matching. Even worse, there are those with no work at all. New “potential employees” are entering the job market and by my cocktail napkin calculation, the economy would need to double its job creation to make a place for the new working-age population.

My niece will soon graduate with approximately 3.6 million other college students. My nephew and 3.5 million others will be graduating from high school. Plus an estimated 1.2 million legal immigrants and roughly 500,000 illegal immigrants could arrive in the United States. If we generate 2.6 million new jobs in this country more the half of the 5 million job seekers will be out of work—not withstanding todays reported reduction of 21,000 in jobless claims.

Climbing the ladder to financial success in America—and to be christened with the moniker of millionaire—has always been fraught with difficulties and complexities that sometimes seem downright unfair, even insurmountable. Yet many fellow Americans, living quietly among us, regularly set out on this journey and ultimately reach financial independence.

Numerous mistaken myths and misconceptions shroud the true character of the self-made American millionaire. But all of them demonstrated in varying degrees that good-actions supported their efforts and propelled them to goals. In all cases, wealth creation is about self-determination and setting free in the marketplace individual techniques to greatness that comes from deep within.

But for those who have not yet “arrived” to affluence, employment through job creation and entrepreneurship is the needed pathway. Creating opportunity for others so they can demonstrate their efforts is the responsibility of all of us who have an unselfish eye on the future of this great country and in keeping the American Dream alive.

When a country controls another politically and/or economically against the will of the majority it is wrong. The British established colonies in North America and people in the thirteen colonies revolted.

“It takes a revolution to make a solution” -Bob Marley

There are at least four types of imperialism in the world, military, political, economic, and cultural. In the past the imperialistic countries used military and political imperialism to establish themselves, and then initiated economic and cultural imperialism. These motives included the desire to make money, to expand and control foreign trade, to create new markets for products, to acquire raw materials and cheap labor, to compete for investments and resources, and to export industrial technology and transportation methods.

In 1973, the General Assembly of the United Nations agreed on the text of the International Convention on the Suppression and Punishment of the Crime of Apartheid (ICSPCA).  “As such, apartheid was declared to be a crime against humanity, with a scope that went far beyond South Africa.

Stop “apartness”, Free Palestinian and Tibet. Apartheid was the name that the political party in south Africa gave to its racial segregation policies, which built upon the country’s history of racial segregation between the ruling white minority and the nonwhite majority.

If being an apartheid state means committing inhumane acts, systematic oppression and domination by one racial group over another, then Israel is guilty, a United Nations panel has determined in a new report.

The findings from an Arab-led group were not cleared or fully backed by U.N. leadership and do not set new policies toward Israel. Yet they reflect another attempt to use a U.N. forum to denounce Israel and seek to put its Western allies on the defensive at a time when some have questioned Israel’s hard-line approach, including expansion of settlements in the West Bank.

Apartheid was a term once associated with South Africa’s white-rule system, but now represents a broad term for crimes against humanity under international law and the Rome Statute that set up the International Criminal Court, said the report in its executive summary made public Wednesday.  Written by Ruth Eglash

Reawakening an American Dream: Creating Your Path to Financial Freedom

Kevin J. Palmer       Author

Reawakening an American Dream reveals the hidden secrets first-time millionaires have used to gain abundance or achieve financial freedom.

Until now, all so called “get rich experts” tout their own style of one-size-fits-all techniques. Their opinions are based on a single idea created through a personal filter, the very subjectivity of which decreases the odds of success for others. The truth is, no single formula for obtaining financial prosperity works. The only “expert” capable of determining how to create wealth is the person themselves and that makes options for succeeding infinite.

In Reawakening an American Dream, hundreds of personalities were examined. The conclusion: all people share external traits but what separates success and failure is an applied divine difference that link behaviors on an individual basis. It illuminates behavioral thinking that paves a way to wealth, by unlocking personal power permitting individual outcomes to naturally unfold–retooling the mind for individual best use. Actual success techniques were woven into the stories, making change virtually effortless, in much the same way children learn new behaviors because they are cognitively predisposed. Within Reawakening an American Dream, each story is enlightening and offers instruction that can open doors to readers’ own riches.

Kevin Palmer says Get Terminated to get to the next level.

To achieve wealth, and the financial freedom that goes with it, all you need to do is change how you think. A recent SMA Institute study revealed, it’s not hard to change neuropathways in the brain and move into top percentiles of income or wealth. Most of us tend to default to things we were taught as children, like being good students, or ideal employees. But in order to thrive you must first unlearn some habits. If you’d rather not break rules or make waves at work, stop reading—but if you want to get rich, get fired!

As a young news reporter in Baltimore, Oprah Winfrey’s boss said she, was a bad fit and look what happened to her. Lots of rich people got fired. Mark Cuban, Thomas Edison, Walt Disney, my old neighbor Jerry Seinfeld. Even Abraham Lincoln was reduced to the military rank of private before he rose to President of the United States. While training stock brokers at white shoe Wall Street firm, I needed to fire someone who consistently failed my expectations. He left and made millions as a computer dating entrepreneur.

In society order must be maintained and using fear bases rules, like with Covid19, keeps the masses controlled, paving the way for those at the top to make the most money. As far back as 1200 BC Egyptian pharaohs first agreed to protect farmers and then made them follow their rules while they collected unimaginable treasures. In England, during the Peteloo Massacre of 1819, people protested against such rule and were attacked by their own militia. Eighteen people were killed.

Once you give up your power, you may not get it back. Keep in mind there’s a long list of those who opposed the status quo, like Elon Musk, J.K. Rowling or Bill Gates. Disruptors get rich and don’t buy into mass think. Licenses are granted by bureaucrats who monitor and threaten you with compliance but no one needs a license or a regulators’ approval to make a lot of money! Do what works (ethically) for you! Serving agendas of companies, institutions and governments will only keep you oppressed.

Resist being ruled and it will positively affect neuropathways in the brain to help you let go of misconception like, your boss knows better. Remember Doghouse Reilly. “I was fired for insubordination. I seem to rate pretty high on that…” If you want to make millions defy when others repress your ideas and express what you do best. Unlearn old habits and replace them with personal empowerment to launch transformational change that will keep you focused and rich.

Part 2 of:

American Dream Lost, an interview with writer, rebel, producer, poet Kevin j Palmer.

QUESTION: So, then what is the answer?

Simple answer is to take back control.

That’s what I call financial freedom. Amassing your own wealth so you have leverage. Besides love, money is the strongest power in the world and it can be used for good.

Problem is those in power intentionally try to keep the masses so busy they have no time to gather their own wealth, therefore they can’t fight back.

The only opportunity to vote happens only once every 4 years and it is usually colossal mess of poorly qualified candidates falling over themselves to get their snout in the public trough.

All of whom want to keep people working busily so we don’t notice the failure of the system. That way, the tax base keeps getting feed no matter who or what is in charge.

Plus, we need to raise kids, go to church, walk the dog. Who has time to fight back? So, nothing ever changes and the same career politician’s, CEO’s and bureaucrats keep resurfacing.

You need to have your own powers so you can say Stop!

That means having, financial freedom, or basically enough net worth to live independently. Then you can refuse a boss who intimates you or a societal psycho who thinks you have no options so they can bully you.

If there is a sociopath in your life you can threaten a lawsuit. Sociopath start popping like a frying egg when you call them on their psycho BS. They hate to get caught. When you have time you can stop all kinds of people from taking advantage of you. Then you get to spend more quality time on people who truly love you.

This book is not about money it is about freedom. In my teenage years as a young surfer, I could never see myself squeezing onto the train to work in the overcrowded city.  I wanted the freedom to do what I loved most.

But my problem was how?

Having nothing to lose is one way, I tried that…ha ah

Another way is having the emotional disciple to accept all that happens to you.

Tried that …very painful

I’m not saying one of these is better than the other but the one I chose long term was having enough money so no one could hold me hostage to unreasonable agendas, or threaten me with getting fired.

Getting fired is empowering by the way. I suggest it, it gives you power and forces change. Read my blog https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/proudly-fired-insubordination-kevin-j-palmer/   about the merits of being fired—sorry I’ve digressed.

What’s your next question?

We’ve just seen one of the most contentious elections in history.

Has the American Dream been lost?

America was founded upon personal freedoms, or so we were taught. We are the greatest nation on earth and I’d rather be nowhere else.

The problem we have now has plagued civilizations throughout history. The regular person gets grounded up in the gears of special interests. Special interests being those who feel they have a right to tell others how to live their life.

New  origin theory is that several hominins evolved and dispersed out of Africa at various times, Homo erectus, Neanderthal, Homo sapiens. So now we understand why some people are aggressive some not so much…

When we were hunter gathers, 200,000 year ago, we all got along okay as small groups. Once we became agrarian, land ownership became important and power became essential in getting and keeping more farmland.

There will always be those who feel others can be used for their own personal benefit. As a behaviorist I can call it by clinical names but there is too much name calling…just go on Twitter. It is Absurd! What we need to do now is be aware of—and then rise above the fray, with strategies that deal with subliminal oppression.

We empower people in the public sector for our benefit and then they use that power to make regular folks feel indebted to them—when we hired by us in the first place, or in the case of large corporations buy from them.

Americans should not accept oppression from politician’s, corporations, police, school administrators, DMV (ha ha) or any institution put in place as a public service to us.

Most of us recall, from fourth grade, that our Pilgrim Fathers were so grateful for having safely reached their destination in 1620, they gave thanks with a noble feast. Today, we reenact that event every fourth Thursday of November, which to some is also known as the most dysfunctional family day of the year.

During this horrific, ‘er I mean, historic year of 2020, you may be traveling down the hall to the kitchen, rather than across the country but will likely navigate to a table with turkey, pies and all the dressings. Traffic slowdowns or hallway accidents aside, you will do better than the Pilgrims, who ended up nowhere near their desired destination.

Historical records show the Mayflower was destined for what is known today, as Virginia. Old sea charts show, even if it landed where plotted, their Thanksgiving dinner would have been near Staten Island’s Bayonne Bridge, which could have seriously altered history. Imagine watching Martin Scorsese’s, “Pilgrims of Wall Street” staring ye’old Leonardo DiCaprio.

Butterfly effect aside, Mayflower passages were not all stodgy prudes. Some weren’t even Pilgrims. Seemingly, a portion of passengers agreed to rules made by the “Virginia Company”, (the guys bankrolling the deal, thus hoped-for arrival location), just to hitch a free ride. All having something to do with a Royal Charter, but more on business schemes next year.

Like now, Reawakening an America Dream, (name of my latest book btw), was on everyone’s mind, especially since a population surge in England was causing great poverty. Plus, with no Charles Schwab, King Charles, like his sons, I & II, confiscated people’s gold to pay their own bills—apparently par for any political age.

So when the, all are welcome recruiting sign went up, it was an even bet for wannabe immigrants. A good idea for Pilgrims Fathers too, until they all hit shore. I failed to mention, there was beer on onboard, (another story for next year). From experience, I know running out of beer is a damn good reason to drop anchor, but putting a party to shore, party being functional word, had its risks.

It seemed during the long voyage, the non-pilgrims turned out to be quite a rowdy bunch and when the new world looked nothing like merry old England, their commitment to the “Virginia Company”, it’s hoped-for landing location and King Charlie, went right out the window, I mean porthole.

Enter Miles Standish, who was “the law” in mercenary clothing, hired to keep order. A guy who likely made your fourth-grade teacher, “Quaker” in her boots as she taught his name and the details of one “Mayflower Compact”.

No, “Mayflower Compact” was not a Thanksgiving recipe! It was an ad hock police power affecting rights of individuals that was in conflict with personal liberty. It basically said, welcome to the New World. Once ashore, we can and will limit your freedoms—”meet the new boss, same as the old boss”. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHhrZgojY1Q

Free or not, adventures, tradesmen, and Pilgrims alike went ashore shooting, looting and scaring Native Americans and their kids. After nearly five weeks, bored and hungry, they moved on to the famous Plymouth Rock, still nowhere near Virginia as originally planned, where they settled in for the winter.

All of them might have died near that granite boulder on which they stepped, if not for an “Indian”, named Squanto, who mysteriously spoke English and negotiated an Indian soup kitchen of sorts, for those unfortunate starving settlers. Today we celebrate that event, but not Squanto, on a day called Thanksgiving.

This year, remain open and accepting of others in thoughts or deeds and have a Happy and Blessed Day.

Brandon Bartholomew was dressed in a dark-gray wool suit,

white starched shirt, and purple tie, making it hard to tell he was

a thin man. His tortoiseshell glasses accented the ebony color of

his skin, eyes, and close-cropped graying hair. His demeanor was

serious—until he smiled like a morning sunrise.

Not readily apparent from his façade was what he had

overcome. As I later learned, Brandon’s father had died when he

was eight. His mother raised him on her nurse’s salary, but she also

died early in his life.

Brandon was fortunate to find activities such as science,

academics, and business that bolstered his spirit. He’d preferred

sports but grew to accept his limitations as an athlete. His backup

plan was to become highly educated and use his practical

knowledge to adopt nontraditional alternatives.

The week following Brandon’s presentation, the panel granted

his request for funding, and he was informed by email. After the

long Veterans Day weekend, I went in my office to catch up on a

stack of unread mail that had arrived before the holiday. Among

the credit-card offers, bills, and advertisements was a handwritten

note on personal stationery from Brandon Reddox Bartholomew.

“Thank you very much,” he wrote, “for giving financial support to

improve the way physicians serve impoverished patients in central

Mississippi.” He closed the letter with an invitation to visit him at

his home in Starkville, Mississippi.

The letter struck me as unusual. Most responses of gratitude

are staged and rather superfluous. They arrive on letterheads of the

receiving entity, addressed collectively to the entire panel. Why

had this man reached out with thanks in such a way?
