True Yield Comes in Human Terms

Being on LinkedIn is new to me and I’m a bit clumsy, like leaving my “notify your network” button on while I built my profile, but I’m glad to have stumbled in here. In the past I was content with just owning the social networking stocks, however my lesson this week is that reconnecting is the best “total return” because true yield comes in human terms.

Life’s lessons happen when we least expect them but we must remain open in spite of how we feel. When I was informed of the untimely death of my friend, Dr. Mary Carroll I was angry. The sad news in due course resurrected a wonderful memory of friendships forged around Mary and our work in Rotary…I only wished I had told her so one more time.

Things move so quickly these days, we tend to forget life and its acquaintances can come to an end at any time. Mary’s passing reminded me that we all have a special place in each other’s life that should be consistently honored and acknowledged.

LinkedIn was my answer from Mary. Connecting to familiar faces this week reminds me of so many beneficial endeavors once had and springs hope that similar benefits become broader and create less economic disparity not only in our community but for the next generations of this great country.
